Payment methods

Vintage Sax accepts credit cards (Master Card, Visa, Discover), money orders, cashier’s checks, international postal money orders, PayPal or personal checks. I am unable to accept foreign credit cards. Please note that personal checks, while allowed, must clear our bank (may take up to 10 business days) before we will ship your order. As a security precaution, we reserve the right to refuse an order or to request payment other than credit card if your shipping address differs from your billing address.

Returns, exchanges, and in-store credit

 An approval period of seven (7) days is given beginning the day you receive the instrument. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may carefully repack and return-ship it to Vintage Sax. You must pay return shipping and return shipping insurance. The buyer must return the instrument in its original condition, and the seller will refund the purchase price minus the original shipping charges.

All returns or exchanges require prior authorization. Please email customer service for a Return Authorization Number (RAN). The buyer must write the RAN number outside of the package for us to accept it. The buyer must include with the returned merchandise a registered letter that provides for your original order number, the RAN, and a brief explanation for the return.

Please make sure all returns are carefully packaged and fully insured. We reserve the right to refuse uninsured packages. Refunds cannot be processed for items that are returned in poor condition. Refunds also cannot be prepared for accessory merchandise in which the security seal or factory shrink-wrap has been broken or opened.

If you are dissatisfied or have problems, please call within the seven days.  All sales are final after the initial seven day period, as stated.

The seller will issue a refund within ten days of receiving the time in the same condition when shipped.

In the rare occurrence that there is an error in filling your order, email Vintage Sax within seven (7) days of receiving the package and we will arrange to have a replacement package sent out as soon as your return arrives. Items with the code prefix NR are not returnable.

Refund policies

 Purchases can be returned or exchanged within seven days of receipt. We understand that you must play-test an instrument before making a final decision. There is no restocking fee assessed when trading for a similar or higher priced item. In this case, you are only responsible for any difference in price and the additional shipping charge. However, if you are merely returning an instrument without an exchange, the return is subject to a 10% restocking fee. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

The buyer must return the item in the identical condition as when they left our shop and must include all factory packaging and printed material in the original, unaltered state.

The seller will issue a refund by one of two means. You can receive either an outright refund or receive in-store credit towards future purchases. For in-store credit, Vintage Sax will email you a discount certificate coupon number that you can use in the same way as a gift certificate. In-store discount certificates have no redeemable cash value.

 

SHIPPING AND HANDLING FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.

 

  • Shipping

Please note that we ship only to street addresses, using UPS ground service, FedEx ground service, or USPS Parcel Post.

At Vintage Sax, we take great care in packing your order.  Even so, occasionally a shipment will be damaged. Any package that we send out will always be fully insured. However, it is your responsibility as the recipient of the item to file a claim for any damages and to demonstrate negligence or mishandling on the part of the shipping carrier. For help in gathering the information, you’ll need to file such a claim, contact us at the email below before submitting a request. We strongly suggest filing a complaint within one week of receiving the damaged goods. Getting the ball rolling is the key to a successful appeal. We are NOT responsible for merchandise damaged during shipping.

The buyer must act promptly and do the following if their item was damaged in shipping:

  • Save the original box and all packing materials. Be sure not to tear off any tracking numbers or address labels.
  • Immediately call or email us.
  • Contact the shipping carrier: UPS – (800) 742-5877, Fed Ex – (800) 463-3339, UPSP – contact your local post office.

Cancellations

At Vintage Sax, we try to provide fast customer service. Therefore, if you choose to cancel an order after we ship it, there’s a good chance we will already have processed it. We will, however, try to stop your order if it hasn’t already gone out. If you wish to cancel an order, please call or email us immediately.

Privacy policy

 We respect your privacy. We do require that you provide us with specific personal information to process your transaction such as name, email, phone, address, credit card number, etc. Buyer is not to use this information for any other reason than to purchase from Vintage Saxophones.

Warranties and repairs

 Your purchase comes standard with a 30-day warranty. Customers may also have an option to purchase a 1-Year extended warranty. The warranty for vintage saxes is limited to defects associated with components that we either replaced or adjusted and covers all work performed.

 If any mechanical flaw should occur in work performed on your saxophone during the warranty that is a “defect” according to this warranty, we will fix it for free, no questions asked. This includes defects associated with springs, corks, pads, felts, screws, braces, posts, rods, and key guards.

  • This warranty applies under conditions of regular use but does not refer to that resulting
  • from intentional damage, abuse, neglect, misuse, mishandling, exposure, or unreasonable
