Here is a fantastic Conn 10m tenor saxophone manufactured in 1948. This horn has retained about 50% of its original lacquer, and features straight tone holes and “metal star” resonators. This is one of the finest sounding instruments you’ll ever find, and many players believe that the sound of a good 10m surpasses that of any Selmer. Aside from evidence of past dent work in the bow (which is very common) and a re-soldering of the key guard under the instrument’s serial number, this saxophone has survived remarkably well over the years, and would be considered a true “player’s horn.”
